My next game review:
Take The Cake by Gamewright – Ages 4 & up
My husband & daughter play this game a lot – actually it is almost always the one she asks him to play! It’s a great concept and all the pieces are high-quality. The cards are thick, sturdy cardboard, colors of the game pieces vibrant, and the “sprinkles” are made of wood. It’s such a “sweet game of shapes, shakes & cupcakes!” I originally bought this game because I love to make, bake & decorate cakes, so I loved the idea of playing this with my daughter. She seems to prefer to play with daddy though.
Gameplay is easy – you shuffle the deck of cards, lay the top 4 face up, then add all the “sprinkles” inside the cupcake shaker. Roll the dice to find out how many shakes you get, shake out that many “sprinkles”, then see if any of the “sprinkles” that come out match any of the cards shown. Once the cupcake is filled with the wooden “sprinkles”, you get that card. Whoever collects the most cards, wins! This game is great for tuning fine-motor skills, learning colors, shapes, and just plain fun!
- A batch of yummy cupcakes is fresh out of the oven and it’s time to decorate
- 2 to 4 players
- Reinforces fine motor skills
- Ages 4 and up
- Playing time: 15 minutes
Head over to Amazon.com to check out more positive reviews! I actually LOVE most of the games made by Gamewright. We only have a headful, but I plan on getting more! They are also the makers of the Hsss game I reviewed earlier here. If you want to check out what I mean, browse their game selection by going here. They are a wonderful kids’ game manufacturer!
